Privacy Policy

If you create an account, we store your email address and an optional display name. As you play, we store gameplay data such as your scores, streaks, chosen difficulty, and the dates you played. We also collect basic technical information that any website receives, such as your browser type and general request data, used to keep the service running and secure. We use product analytics to understand how the game is played (which pages and features people use, and where they drop off) so we can improve it; this is usage data, not advertising, and we do not sell it.

We use your data to run your account, save your progress, show your personal stats and the leaderboard, and send the emails you choose to receive. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Payments for StormGuessr Pro are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We store only a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status so we can give you Pro access and let you manage your plan. Stripe processes your payment information under its own privacy policy.

We use a small set of trusted providers to operate StormGuessr: Supabase for our database and sign in, Stripe for payments, Google for optional Google sign in, MapTiler for maps, PostHog for product analytics, and Vercel for hosting. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the service.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your game state, plus a first party analytics cookie to measure how the game is used. We do not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the providers listed above so they can perform their service, or when we are legally required to do so.

You can play signed out, which stores almost nothing about you. If you receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing the address below, and we will take care of it.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data, except for anything we must keep for legal or accounting reasons, such as payment records held by Stripe.

StormGuessr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
